Compare the u-joints on the 1955 drive shaft to the yoke on the 10 bolt pinion to see if they will fit. Or if you are using a drive shaft other than the original measure the length to see if it is correct.

Use the shock brackets from the stock, original 1955 rear axle assembly on your 10 bolt. Also use the rubber axle bumpers from the 1955 rear axle assembly.

Both rear axle assemblies will be within an inch of each other width wise, 54 to 55 inches. Measure your rims to make sure you have the correct offset to fit your 10 bolt.

Check your steel brake lines and rubber brake hose and replace them since you are pulling it apart anyway. CARS INC carries new stainless steel brake lines and the rubber hose. The brake lines will be attached to the rear axle in a different way, however this is simple to make your own bracket where the T will attach to the 10 bolt. CARS Inc also carries new U bolts with nuts to bolt in your 10 bolt. Call us at 1 800 CARS INC or order at www.carsinc.com
